The Missouri Public Service Commission has scheduled local public hearings to receive customer comments in an electric rate increase request case filed by The Empire District Electric Company doing business as Liberty Utilities.
Liberty has requested to increase rate revenues from its Missouri electric retail customers by $152.8 million per year and increasing its monthly fixed residential customer charge from $13 to $16.
The Lakes Region’s hearing will take place this Wednesday at Branson City Hall beginning at Noon. Other southwest Missouri hearings include one in Nixa on Tuesday and two in Aurora on Thursday. There will also be Virtual Local Public Hearings on Wednesday and Friday.
