Lakes Region State House Seats to be Determined in November

While several offices for 2027 were determined by Tuesday's Primary Election, the three people who will represent the Lakes Region in the Missouri House next year will be determined in November.

Only one of the three House Seats had a contested race in the primary, with incumbent 138th Republican State Representative Burt Whaley garnered 78% of the vote in defeating challenger Tom Franiak to win renomination. Whaley will go up against Democratic Candidate Chris Daugherty in the November Midterm Election to decide who will represent the district in Jefferson City. 

The other two districts covering the Lakes Region, the 155th and 156th, had uncontested primary races setting up the races for November. Both seats are currently held by Republicans, with Matthew Overcast getting a challenge in the 155 race from Joshua Berzins while Brian Seitz will be challenged for the 156 seat by Trent Davis. 

A win by Seitz would earn him his final two years in office as he will reach the state mandated term limit of eight years. 

The Election of State Auditor along with 7th District Congressional Representative will be among the other races decided in the Midterm Election on November 3.
