A coalition of legislators fighting the current proposed Missouri Congressional Map includes an area Senator.
Republican State Senator Mike Moon, whose district includes Branson and much of the Lakes Region, joined Senators Denny Hoskins and Sen. Bill Eigel as members of the Conservative Coalition that controlled the Senate Floor on Wednesday wanting the Legislature to relook at the map that came out of the House, which current sets-up a six Republican, two Democratic map for U. S. House Representation. The Coalition is wanting a new map considered which would potentially give the Republican seven U.S. House Seats.
Ozarks First Missouri Capital Reporter Emily Manley reported that meetings on the Senate Floor were cancelled with a group of senators including Moon taking the Senate floor to argue for the new map.
A Senate vote in favor of the currently proposed map would send it to Governor Mike Parson to sign into law.
