Kyle Knudsen received Branson government's Employee of the Month award for being a good team member, according to Alderman Ralph Leblanc.
The Branson alderman presented Knudsen with the award during Tuesday night's Board of Aldermen meeting. The recipient works in the Public Works/Engineering Department. Leblanc explained why Knudsen received the award.
"Kyle was nominated for his outstanding teamwork and cooperation. He recently took the initiative to learn Spanish on his own time and volunteers to use his new skills to help other departments when they need a translator," the alderman said.
He added that it "comes in handy frequently" for Branson's police and human resources. Leblanc highlighted something else Knudsen does to help.
"Kyle also started a monthly safety newsletter for his department to make sure everyone stays current on safety standards and policies. He routinely goes out of his way to help others with no need for recognition," he said.
Later, Knudsen thanked everyone for attending the meeting and also said that he chose to work for the city because he enjoys working in Branson.
