A man is behind bars in the Taney County Jail after an incident last week in which he is accused of attacking another man while in a Lakes Region business.
According to the probable cause affidavit filed by the Hollister Police Department, the incident occurred at Lowes last Thursday when Jacob Qualls of Kirbyville attacked the victim, knocking him unconscious then fleeing the store. Officers later spotted him along Highway 65 at which time he jumped over a gate at the east end of College of the Ozarks where he was captured near one of the greenhouses on campus.
Qualls, who had been tasered during the pursuit and administered Narcan due to his behavior, was taken to Cox Medical Center Branson for treatment and later to the Taney County Jail where he is currently being held without bond.
