Efforts to improve pedestrian safety and walkability move forward in Kimberling City with new grant funding supporting construction of a multi-use path along Kimberling Boulevard.
City Administrator Dawne Gardner said the city has secured multiple funding sources to support construction of Kimberling City’s first dedicated multi-use path, addressing long-standing pedestrian and bicycle safety concerns.
“This project allows us to begin building the kind of walkable infrastructure our community has identified as a need for several years,” Gardner said.
The project carries an estimated construction cost of $1,699,926 and will be funded through a combination of a $752,324 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), a $597,602 Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) grant, and $350,000 in local funds.
