Two dates are set aside annually for communities and their police departments to pick from to celebrate their National Night Out Police Community Relations Events. One lakes area police department is actually using both dates.
Kimberling City will celebrate two events, the first taking place this evening from 6:00 to 8:00. This evening's event will be a Grill Out in the neighborhoods were police officers live plus other locations. Hot Dogs will be served at each location along with other displays and gifts for kids.
The city will also host an event on the other designated night which will be on October 1st with that event to take place at the Our Lady of the Cove Catholic.
The National Night Out Event is organized nationally annually to give police departments a chance to organize community outreach events. While most departments in the country celebrate on the first Tuesday of August, several others including the City of Branson conduct their event on the first Tuesday in October.
More details on the Kimberling City events can be found on their department's Facebook Page.
