Although on the job since June, the official ceremony to inaugurate Dr. Brad Johnson as College of the Ozarks' 17th President took place before a large audience Thursday at the Keeter Athletic Complex.
The ceremony, conducted for the first time in 40 years, featured several guest speakers including former Missouri Governor and U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft, Dr. Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King who has appeared at the school several times, and School Chancellor Dr. Jerry Davis, who Johnson succeeded as President after Davis’s Retirement from the position.
Dr. Johnson during his speech talked about the pillars of the school’s education and the importance of maintaining the values as they also grow and develop and have impact in a changing world.
Many College and School of the Ozarks Students as well as members of the surrounding communities attended the ceremony.
