The Staff Report that was presented outlined that $8 million in tourism capital is proposed for 2023; sewer capital for 2023 is proposed to come in at $4.8 million. This highlights tourism dollars going toward water and sewer rates. Rates also aids operation and maintenance; this includes personnel funding. 2023 is expected to see water rates increase.
It's estimated that it will increase by 12%. That is about $4. That's estimated to leave Branson with an approximate reserve of 44%. A 10% rate increase was requested for sewer. This will result in a 62% reserve.
Later, Branson Mayor Larry Milton and aldermen discussed the matter. The full hearing can be heard online.
