SOUTHWEST MISSOURI — Brandi Villa is a single mother who works in the Branson area, trying to make ends meet.
She’s on SNAP, but has gone without the funds during the shutdown.
This week, she received a partial payment.
“They only gave me $85 out of about $268,” Villa said. “I’m surprised I got anything.”
She’s thankful for the partial payment, but doesn’t shy away from what life has been like the past few weeks, even borrowing on future checks to fund the present.
