Missouri Deer Hunters again step up to contribute to Food Pantries in the Lakes Region.
Quenten Fronterhouse, one of the Taney County Agents for the Missouri Department of Conservation, says during the latest MDC Podcast that 54 deer were donated resulting in 1600 pounds of ground-up deer meet that was donated to food pantries in Christian, Douglas, Stone, and Taney Counties.
The program, funded by the Missouri Conservation Federation as well as the White River Valley Electric Round-Up program, pays for the processing of deer meat for hunters who don't wish to keep the deer they've harvested. The meat processing again this year was done in the Lakes Region by Oldfield Processing in Christian County.
