According to MoDOT, the delay is intended to reduce traffic disruptions and minimize impacts on drivers.
The project will stabilize the Route 76 embankment between the Branson Landing Boulevard roundabout and Lake Shore Drive. The work will include the reconstruction of the Route 76 roadway removing and replacing around 1,200 feet of roadway base. A concrete drainage ditch along the east side of the road adjacent to the rock bluff will also be installed.
During construction, Route 76 will be closed between the Business 65 Roundabout and Lake Shore Drive for up to 120 days. A detour will be available through Coon Creek Road and Taney County Route BB. Marine traffic on Lake Taneycomo will not be impacted by the project.
The project is estimated to cost $6.7 million and has been awarded to KCI Construction Company of St. Louis.
MoDOT plans to hold another public meeting before construction begins on a date to be determined.
