Honor America set for tonight at College of the Ozarks. Legends 1063 and MY 100.1 will have coverage of he event beginning this afternoon at 4:00 with the event itself scheduled to start at 6:00.

College of the Ozarks invites the public to attend its annual Honor America celebration on Saturday, June 27, as part of the College’s ongoing observance of America 250, the nationwide commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

The event is free and open to the public. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy an evening of family-friendly activities, live entertainment, food vendors, fireworks, and a patriotic drone show.

Patriotic banners commemorating America 250 will line campus streets as guests arrive for the celebration. As America marks this historic milestone, College of the Ozarks continues its yearlong “Re-awakening the American Spirit” initiative, honoring the nation’s founding principles and inspiring a renewed appreciation for faith, freedom, and service.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

6 p.m. — Festivities Begin

Food vendors will include Chick-fil-A, London Calling, Kilwin’s, Flat Creek, Kona Ice, and The Deck Pizza Company. Refreshments available for purchase will include fresh-squeezed lemonade, old-fashioned sodas, College of the Ozarks milk, cookies, and student-made treats. Food service concludes at 9:30 p.m.

Edwards Mill will be open from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Guests may enjoy cookies, bottled water, and old-fashioned sodas while browsing the mill's offerings. Family-friendly activities also will be available throughout the evening.

Children’s activities will include face painting, bounce houses, basketball, and a craft station where children may create thank-you cards for Veterans. A Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter from the Missouri Army National Guard will be on display.

Live entertainment will feature performances by The Hunt Family Band and two Army bands: The Big Band and Fire for Effect.

8:45 p.m. — Patriotic Program and Fireworks

The Hard Work U. Concert Band will perform a patriotic musical tribute as part of the evening program. The celebration will conclude with a fireworks display by Pyro Spectaculars Midwest and a patriotic drone light show by SkyGlow.
