The turmoil in the Highlandville Police Department takes another turn Tuesday evening as one of the two remaining full-time officers resigns.
According to an Ozarks First Report, Police Sgt. Norman Clark handed in his resignation at the Highlandville city council meeting Tuesday night, leaving just one remaining full-time officer on the force once his resignation takes effect in two weeks.
The only other full-time officer is Tracy West, who is being investigated at both the local and state levels for his handling of a domestic assault incident. This taking place during the time the investigation into a fire at the residence of Police Chief Warren Hagar indicates it could have been intentionally set.
