The heat continues to rise in the Lakes Region.
The National Weather Service has put southwest Missouri under a Heat Advisory for this afternoon and evening with high temperatures expected around 100 and humidity to raise the Heat Index to around 108.
UPDATE: Parts of northern Arkansas including Carroll County have been added to today's Heat Advisory.
No Heat Advisories are in effect for northern central Arkansas though Heat Index Readings are expected to be above 100 as well.
Officials remind people planning outdoor activities or work to drink plenty of fluids and plan breaks out of the heat.
