The Heat Advisory that began in southern Missouri continues until Wednesday while a new Heat Advisory has been issued for the border counties in northern Arkansas.
All of Boone, Carroll, and Marion Counties along with northern Newton and Searcy Counties will be under a Heat Advisory this afternoon and evening. Heat Index Readings are forecast to be between 105 and 110 throughout the region.
Southern Missouri including Barry, Ozark, Stone, and Taney Counties are under a Heat Advisory through Wednesday.
Officials remind people of the dangers of long-term exposure to heat and advise those with outdoor plans to limit strenuous activities to early morning or during the evening hours.
