The National Weather Service has issued Heat Advisories for the Lakes Region.
The Heat Advisory for the Missouri Lakes Region including Barry, Stone, Taney, and Ozark Counties along with most of southwest Missouri goes from this afternoon through Friday afternoon while the Heat Advisory in northern Arkansas including Boone, Carroll, Madison, Marion, Newton, and Searcy Counties is in effect today and Thursday afternoon and early evening.
High temperatures are expected in the triple digits in much of the region during the rest of the week with Heat Index Readings from 105-110.
Weather and health officials remind people to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. People are reminded to take extra precautions if they work outside and schedule strenuous activities for early morning or later in the evening.
