Hearing Schedule Set In Liberty Water And Sewer Rate Cases

JEFFERSON CITY---The Missouri Public Service Commission will hold formal evidentiary hearings November 18-22, 2024, in water and sewer rate cases filed by Liberty Utilities (Missouri Water) Corp. d/b/a Liberty.

These hearings will be held in Room 310 of the Governor Office Building, 200 Madison Street, in Jefferson City. This building meets accessibility standards required by the Americans with Disabilities Act. These hearings will also be streamed live on the Commission’s website (www.psc.mo.gov).

On March 13, 2024, Liberty filed water and sewer rate cases with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking to increase annual water revenues by approximately $7.99 million and annual sewer revenues by approximately $75,180. The proposed annual water revenues are an increase of approximately 130.37%. The proposed annual sewer revenues are an increase of approximately 2.2%.
 

Liberty is also proposing to consolidate its rates into two sets of water rates and two sets of wastewater rates, which would be consolidated from its existing 15 water tariff rate areas and five wastewater tariff rate areas.

According to the filing, Liberty provides water service to approximately 12,100 customers and sewer service to approximately 4,900 customers in 13 Missouri counties (Polk, Cape Girardeau, Jefferson, Stoddard, Stone, Christian, Lawrence, Barry, Taney, Franklin, McDonald, Butler and Wayne).
