The annual group of days that follow Thanksgiving to emphasize different things moves on to a day designed to remind people about supporting non-profit organizations.
After the run of days putting the focus on shopping, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday, today turns the attention to helping others with Giving Tuesday.
Started by an organization in New York in 2212, Giving Tuesday has now been adopted by many non-profit organizations as a big day to raise awareness and money for their causes. Many charities have special plans for today to encourage donations while others simply encourage people to make today the day to donate.
