The departure of Kelly Dougherty as the Mayor of Forsyth is happening earlier than expected.
Daugherty turned in her resignation as Forsyth Mayor on Monday after announcing late last year that she would not seek another term in office. She cited health concerns as her reason for resigning before the end of her term in April.
The Board did not announce an interim Mayor at the end of the meeting according to a Branson Tri-Lakes News Report.
The Board can appoint an interim Mayor to serve until April or have the current Mayor Pro-Tem conduct meetings until a new Mayor is elected in April. Current Board Member Missi Hesketh is the only name on the ballot for the Mayor's position in the upcoming election.
