Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States, died Sunday at the age of 100.
Carter, who was in office from 1977 to 1981, continued work for humanitarian causes and human rights issues for decades after his presidency ended.
Carter was the longest living ex-president in history having turned 100 in October. He had been in declining health for over two years.
