BRANSON, Mo. — Five Ozarks authors will be signing books at a free event hosted by the Branson Regional Arts Council.
Authors Howard C. Cavner, Todd Parnell, Tom Koob, Curtis Copeland and Marilyn Whetstone will be at the Historic Owen Theatre on Aug. 5 at 6 p.m.
Attendees will be able to meet the authors and learn more about what inspired their books.
The signing event will be followed by a 7 p.m. showing of the 1941 film version of “The Shepherd of the Hills”, starring John Wayne, Betty Field and Harry Carey. The film was based on the novel of the same name by Harold Bell Wright, and was Wayne’s first film in Technicolor.
The movie is sponsored by the Historic Downtown Branson Community Improvement District. Concessions will be available and seating is limited to 200 people.
