The continuing windy conditions coupled with low humidity has elevated much of the region to a moderate risk level for wildfires.
The latest map issued by the Arkansas Forestry Division shows the entire region including Boone, Carroll, Madison, Marion, Newton, and Searcy Counties at the moderate risk of wildfire spreading. According to the forestry division, conditions have increased throughout much of the state due to the warmer, dryer conditions.
One area community, Bull Shoals, has already issued a burn ban for their city.
Missouri officials also continue to warn against burning due to continued warm conditions and low relative humidity. .
Some rain is possible this evening with a higher chance of rain in the forecast Friday.
