While the entire Lakes Region is getting set for a cool down, parts of southern Missouri have one more day of excessive heat to deal with.
The National Weather Service in Springfield has extended the Excessive Heat Warning one more day, through 7:00 tonight, for all of southern Missouri including the Lakes Region. Temperatures in the mid 90s will persist with possible Heat Index Readings from 105-110.
While northern Arkansas is not under a Heat Warning or Advisory, conditions will stay hot in most of the area as well.
The entire region does have a chance of scattered thunderstorms as the frontal boundary approaches with a few storms possibly reaching severe limits with high winds the primary threat.
Temperatures will cool off on Sunday with highs expected in the low to mid 80s
