Annually, the Arkansas Attorney General honors law enforcement officers at the Officer of the Year Luncheon.
Each county has officers nominated out of which five regional winners are announced and then one officer is honored as the Statewide Officer of the Year. Attorney General Tim Griffin presented this year's Officer of the Year Award to Arkansas State Police Trooper Hunter Grubbs, who serves the southwest part of the state.
The Northwest Regional Winners are from the Lakes Region with the honor going to Corporal Dylan Gresham, Officer Drew Walker of the Eureka Springs Police Department. County winners from the Lakes Region include Harrison Police Officer Josiah Smith representing Boone County and Flippin Police Chief John Spence representing Marion County.
Other Lakes Region winners included Madison County Sheriff Corporal Levi Watkins along with Arkansas State Police Special Agents Becky Vacco and Paul Robson representing Newton and Searcy Counties respectively.
The awards luncheon was held on December 11 in Little Rock.
