The closure last week of the Branson Tri-Lakes News Family of papers still has employees seeking answers.
Pierce Fahr was the Circulation and Mailroom Manager for the newspaper, and he said in a message to Legends 1063 over the weekend that employees still have not had any word from newspaper owners Lancaster Management, since they were notified last week that the paper was ceasing operations. Fahr says that includes final paychecks and layoff notices that would help employees file for unemployment benefits.
Also impacted are the area County Clerks as Taney County’s Stephanie Spencer and Stone County’s Denise Dickens use the paper for Legal Notifications including Sample Ballots for the upcoming election. Dickens told Legends 1063 that the papers shutdown prior to the publishing of the ballots.
Links to sample ballots for both Stone and Taney County are available on this website.
