The 2022 election cycle begins in earnest today across Arkansas with the opening of the filing period for political party, nonpartisan and school board candidates.
The filing period will remain open for one week, until noon on March 1.
At noon, political party candidates, including locally county-wide positions, justices of the peace, constables, state representatives and some state senators, may begin filing for office.
Beginning at 3, the nonpartisan filing period for prosecutors and judicial candidates opens.
Also today, school board candidates may submit their completed petitions to their respective county clerk’s office.
In Missouri, today begins the sign-up period for county and state offices for the August Primary.
