The areas of drought remain distinctive between Arkansas and Missouri according to the latest map from the U.S. Drought Monitor.
While the recent rainfall has had an impact on water levels, most of northern Arkansas remains in a high drought level. Areas southeast of Harrison are at a Extreme to Exception Level while the remainder of the region is at a Moderate to Severe Level.
In southern Missouri, only an area along a Cassville-Kimberling City-Branson line remains Abnormally Dry while the rest of the region is drought free.
A couple more rounds of rain are expected to move through the region over the next three days before another dry period settles into the region.
