Drought Levels Continue to Fall with More Rain Expected in Lakes Region

The latest map from the U.S. Drought Monitor shows levels continue to fall in the Lakes Region.

In Missouri, the Branson area is showing no drought levels at all. That includes all of Barry and Stone counties as well as most of Taney County. The eastern half of the county, along a line from Bradleyville to Protem as well as all of Ozark County are Abnormally Dry. 

Drought conditions have been higher in northern Arkansas but still are on the decline. Central Newton County is still at an Extreme Level while the area south and east of a Berryville-Omaha Line is at a Severe Level. 

More rain is in the forecast for the weekend around the Lakes Region. Rain is expected to start early Saturday morning with another potential for severe weather during the afternoon and evening. Heavy rain is also possible for showers end early on Sunday ushering in a dryer/cooler period of weather for the Lakes Region.
