The lack of precipitation has now put the entire Lakes Region as a Moderate Drought Level.
The latest map from the U.S. Drought Monitor shows the Lakes Region counties of Boone, Carroll, Madison, Marion, Newton, and Searcy in Arkansas as well as Barry, Ozark, Stone, and Taney in Missouri at Moderate Level. Water levels continue to decline while the fire threat increases. In Arkansas, Carroll and Madison Counties have issued burn bans due to the continuing dry conditions.
Besides today’s slight chance of rain, no precipitation is in the forecast for the next week.
