Don Eby is Branson's Employee of the Month

Branson Utilities Department employee Don Eby is the city's employee of the month.

Eby received the award during the Branson Board of Aldermen meeting on Tuesday night. Kendall Powell, the department's director, presented with it. Eby's willingness to help where and when he can made him an ideal choice for the honor.

"Don, who handles the majority of our Water Treatment Plant maintenance, is always willing to take time to train and show other employees how to handle this aspect of plant operations. His dedication to the City of Branson and the Water Treatment division helps our operators grow in their understanding of everything involved with water treatment," Powell said.

His work ethic stood out not too long ago. Eby searched for YouTube videos to provide training connected to water treatment plants. There was just one problem.

Eby couldn't find such videos. That didn't stop him.

Powell said that the Eby made his own training videos. "By utilizing his knowledge and experience, Don created how-tos to help coworkers learn more about [the] plants. His effort in this was above and beyond what was expected, and his videos will be able to help both current and future operators."

The department director highlighted another way Eby has exceeded expectations. He offered in person training for staff to learn about equipment; additionally, he provided a math class in which he taught formulas necessary for treatment. That will help new employees obtain their state certificates.

Congratulations, and keep up the good work. Thank you, Don," Powell said.
