Some more court filings in the case of a woman's death in Boone County more than two years ago.
It was on March 6, 2022 that Rocky Dodson called 9-1-1 to tell emergency personnel that he had found his wife Amanda dead on the floor of their residence in Omaha. Early conclusions in the investigation led to Rocky Dodson being charged with murdering his wife.
Continued delays in the trial came to a head in May when prosecutors filed to dismiss the charges against Dodson stating they were less confident in the evidence that had been gathered. The motion did state that they could refile charges at a future event.
Now, Dodson's attorney, Shane Wilkinson, has filed to get a hearing to dismiss the charges against his client without the opportunity to refile, claiming that the state has had two years to gather that evidence and that the current ruling gives prosecutors an indefinite delay to try and find new evidence.
