A man reported as missing from the Lakes Region last summer is confirmed to be the person whose remains were discovered last fall at Top of the Rocks.
A release from the DNA company Othram and a recent story in the Branson Tri-Lakes News, the remains were identified as 40-year-old Jacob Berney of Branson.
According to the release, Berney's body was found doing a geological study at a sinkhole in September of last year. The Taney County Coroner and the Missouri State Highway Patrol worked with the company to identify the remains thanks to a DNA submission by a family member that was used to compare the DNA of the remains to make the identification.
