TANEY COUNTY, Mo. — A car crashed two miles south of Hollister late Monday night, killing a 14-year-old from Forsyth and injuring two other juveniles. It was a single-vehicle accident.
According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu was driving south on State Highway 165 at approximately 11:16 p.m. The Chevrolet then failed to navigate a turn on the highway, traveled off the left side of the roadway and crashed into a tree, MSHP says.
A 14-year-old girl in the car was pronounced dead at the scene just after midnight by the Taney County Coroner. The 16-year-old driver suffered serious injuries and was taken by aircraft to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, and a 15-year-old passenger was taken to Cox South for minor injuries.
