CoxHealth announces Monday their organization is going to a "Universal" Vaccination Policy for all employees.
According to a release from Cox, the full FDA approval of the Pfizer Vaccine for ages 16 years and up is what led to the changed in policy.
CEO Steve Edwards, in the same release, states that science has shown that the vaccines is a way to curtail and end the pandemic and that the decision is made in the interest of protecting patients, staff, and the communities Cox serves.
The release states that all Cox employees will need to have their first vaccination by October 15.
To date, nearly 70 percent of CoxHealth employees are already vaccinated against COVID-19, as well as more than 90 percent of physicians according to the release.
