Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas is looking to remove cell phone distractions from schools.
Senator Cotton is pushing for a Focus on Learning Act which instructs the Department of Education to study the impact of reducing cell phone use at school. The bill would provide select schools with five million dollars a year for five years to create a phone free student environment.
That funding would be used to install secure containers for students to store their cell phones in during the school day.
