The City of Forsyth is looking to re-staff their Police Department after the recent departure of the Chief and several officers.
City Clerk Cheyenne Beasley tells the Branson Tri-Lakes News in an e-mail that they currently are down to two full time officers.
David Forest stepped down as Police Chief in October and two other officers have resigned since then according to Beasley.
Mayor Kelly Dougherty tells the Branson Tri-Lakes News that she and the Board of Aldermen held an Emergency Meeting and decided to raise the pay for Officers going forward. She also added the Taney County Sheriff’s Office has agreed to help with coverage in the city while the get the department fully staffed.
