City of Branson to Conduct CERT Training

The City of Branson in a Press Release announces training for community members wanting to learn about disaster preparation training.

Branson Fire Rescue would like to invite area residents to a “Community Emergency Response Team” (CERT) training program that starts on Friday, September 17, 2021, to learn how to be better prepared during a disaster.

CERT is a three week program that focuses on teaching community members basic skills related to disaster responses such as fire safety, search and rescue, team organization and disaster preparedness. CERT trained community members are a vital part of any neighborhood and can provide immediate assistance until emergency responders arrive.

“I encourage all our residents to take advantage of this free training. Not only could it save your family during a disaster, but community members with this training will also be better prepared to help and sustain their neighbors as well,” said Branson Fire Chief, Ted Martin.

The training will be held on Friday evenings and Saturdays for three weeks with the last class on Saturday, October 2, 2021. This training is free to local community members but registration is required. To register or for more information, call Branson Fire & Rescue at 417-337-8584. You can read more about CERT on the Emergency Management section of the Branson Fire Rescue website.
