The death of an infant in Iowa in 1992 has now led to an arrest in Missouri this week.
According to an Ozarks First Feature story, authorities in Christian County arrested Cindy Sue Elder Tuesday on behalf of authorities in Johnson County Iowa. Elder is accused of killing her newborn baby and leaving it in a trash can. The case had remained unsolved for decades, but new DNA Testing connected the baby to Elder.
In the Ozarks First Feature, Christian County Sheriff Brad Cole says his department was contacted in 2022 and helped with the investigation that eventually led to Elder’s arrest.
The complete feature can be found on the Ozarks First Website.
