Candidate Filing Period Begins in Missouri

People that are interested in running for an elected position in a municipality, a school district, or other political subdivisions have the opportunity to sign-up to appear on the ballot.

The period for candidate sign-up for the 2024 Missouri Municipal Elections is underway with the filing period going until 5:00 pm December 26. 

Board of Aldermen and Trustee positions will have open seats while some cities will have Mayor positions open with positions also open on area Boards of Education. Board positions may also be open on Ambulance and Water Districts as well.  

The sign-up locations will be the City Offices for Municipal Positions, and the Administrative offices for a particular School District or other organizations. 

The 2024 Municipal Election will take place on Tuesday April 2.
