CAM To Celebrate Opening of New Forsyth Food Pantry Location

Christian Action Ministries is celebrating their new Forsyth Pantry Location with a ribbon cutting later this month.

The Forsyth Pantry, which moved into the former Save A Lot Store location in August, will hold the ceremony on September 28. The Branson, Forsyth, and Hollister Chambers will be represented as well as many other leaders in the region to dedicate the new facility. 

The CAM Forsyth Pantry had been operating at the former Charlie's Steakhouse Location on State Highway Y for nearly two years before making the move. Sav a Lot Grocery closed after 38 years in business this past June.

Christian Action Ministries (CAM) will celebrate the opening of its new Forsyth location with a community ribbon cutting on Monday, September 28, at 4:30 p.m. The new facility, located at 142 Main Street in Forsyth, brings CAM’s food pantry and thrift store together in a new downtown location designed to better serve neighbors throughout Forsyth and the surrounding communities. 

CAM will be joined for the celebration by representatives from the Branson, Forsyth and Hollister Chambers of Commerce, along with community leaders, volunteers, supporters and neighbors. Community members are invited to attend and celebrate this important milestone with CAM.

Following the ribbon cutting, guests are invited to enjoy BBQ provided by John, former owner of Fat Daddy’s , who is known throughout the community for his great BBQ. The celebration will provide an opportunity for community members to tour the new facility, learn more about CAM’s services and connect with the people who make the ministry possible.

The new Forsyth food pantry features CAM’s client-choice shopping model, allowing neighbors to select the foods that best meet their household’s needs, much like shopping in a grocery store. The approach is designed to provide greater dignity, flexibility and choice for individuals and families seeking assistance.

The addition of the new location represents an important step forward for CAM as the ministry continues to expand its ability to serve neighbors in Stone and Taney Counties.
