Branson's Utilities Administrative Services Manager Stephanie Crawford is the city's employee of the month.
Crawford was honored with the award during Tuesday evening's board of aldermen meeting. Branson Utilities Director Kendall Powell presented her with the award. He explained why she was receiving it.
"Stephanie was nominated for her leadership efforts on the “Tri-Lakes Biosolids Joint Municipal Utility Commission” which helps the City of Branson and the entire Tri-Lakes Community," Powell said.
He explained that the commission waste in liquid form into "solid fertilizer." The director also highlighted how has exceeded expectations.
"Stephanie has taken on the management responsibilities for this commission above and beyond her normal job responsibilities including maintaining records and financials, managing the budget, project documentation and vendor communication."
He talked specifically about a recent time when Crawford resolved an error in a vendor's billing. That error caused the bill to come out 10 times what was planned for.
Powell said her solution saved the department "nearly $200,000 a year."
