BRANSON, Mo. — Both the Branson Police Department (BPD) and the Taney County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) say there is a scam going around impersonating their agencies.
For Branson police, they say residents have reported that they’ve received calls from the number 417-390-8952 claiming to be part of the BPD. The caller will tell them they’ve missed their court date or the call will direct to an automated message saying this is the “confidential voicemail” of the BPD, asking you to leave your name, phone number and a brief message.
BPD says that number does not belong to them and urges residents not to leave their personal information with the caller. Branson police also say they are actively investigating the incident.
