The Branson Police Department issues a reminder about vehicles using blue flashing lights and sirens.
In a Facebook Post, the department said it had received some calls about personal vehicles using the lights and sirens with concerns they may be impersonating police officers.
Branson PD says as a reminder that these vehicles belong to Volunteer Firefighters responding to emergencies. Missouri Law does authorize the use of lights and sirens for this reason and motorist should yield to these vehicles as they would any emergency vehicle.
The post continues by stating that both Taney and Stone counties have large contingents of volunteer first responders who utilize these emergency lights and motorist are asked to yield to them so they can arrive to help people in need safely.
