Branson Man Convicted of 2021 Double Homicide

After the first trial ended in a mistrial, the second trial for the murder of two individuals ended in a conviction for a Branson Man.

According to a release from the Taney County Prosecutor's Office, Miguel Melendez Torres was found guilty of two counts of murder in the second degree, two counts of armed criminal action, and two counts of attempted robbery in the first degree.

Torres was accused of approaching Rocky McMahan and Krystle Buhl in the back of the Famous Dave’s parking lot on May 29, 2021. Torres was going to rob them but after a confrontation, both victims were shot in the head. Buhl was pronounced dead at the scene while McMahan died later at an area hospital. 

Sentencing for Torres is scheduled for Taney County Circuit Court on October 8.
