A Branson man is in jail facing felony charges of 1st Degree Assault and Armed Criminal Action.
According to the probable cause affidavit filed by the Branson Police Department, the incident occurred Saturday on Shepherd of the Hills Expressway when Brian Gates approached a non-physical argument between two family members. A camera on the property showed Gates with a knife in hand after which he left camera range and is alleged that Gates stabbed a victim in the abdomen. Gates told officer that he acted in self defense claiming the victim had brass knuckles though none were found on the scene.
Gates is being held in the Taney County Jail without bond.
