Branson Citizen Recognized at Board of Aldermen Meeting

Branson citizen Dominic Haygood was recognized at Tuesday night’s Board of Aldermen meeting; Branson Mayor Larry Milton presented Haygood with the “You’ve Been Caught” award.

Milton asked Haygood to come to the front while he read a statement. “It is my privilege to announce that the City of Branson's "You've Been Caught" citizen recognition award for February 2022, is going to Dominic Haygood,” Milton said. The award recognizes citizens and community members “whose actions exemplify the City of Branson values and who make our community a great place to live, work, and play.”

Milton said Haygood was receiving the award because of his selfless and kind actions during the recent snowstorm. “He was nominated by a 60-year old woman whose car couldn't make it up an icy and snow-packed hill. After several attempts of her own, which almost ended in accidents, she was crying, scared, and didn't know what to do,” Milton said.

When Haygood found her, he parked his car on the side of the road, got into her car and drove it up the hill. “He then offered to drive her car the rest of the way to her work, where she was headed. After ensuring she got there safely, he then had to walk about 2.5 miles back to his own car in the snow and freezing cold.”

“Congratulations and keep making Branson proud,” Milton said.
