Branson Among Districts Working Around COVID, Weather

The Branson School District continues to work around both COVID and Weather issues in the early part of the 2022 portion of the school year.

Dr. Brad Swofford, Superintendent of the Branson School District, during an interview on Thursday's "Ozarks Now" program says that the goal is to have in-person classes as much as possible but also to balance out the safety of students and staff in both getting to and from school as well as keeping them healthy once in school.

Swofford says like surrounding districts, the challenge has been mainly with staff absences but to this point, they have been able to have adequate staff for school days.

Swofford also talk about that to this point, athletics and extracurricular have not had major COVID issues. Recently, the Centers for Disease Control had suggested to schools the cancellation of some athletic events to help stop the spread of the Omicron Variant.
