Boone County Election Confusion Solved

Boone County will have three runoff races in June.

According to Boone County Election officials the confusion regarding whether the new Arkansas Law known as the 40/20 rule will apply to the primary race for Boone County Judge has been solved.

Check out what the 40/20 rule is here.

Officials said on Wednesday that there will be a runoff in that race as well as two others and that the 40/20 rule does not apply to primary races. That means that any race with more than two candidates that does not have once candidate achieving at least 50% plus one vote of the total votes cast will come down to a runoff scheduled for June 21st.

The three races that Boone County will have for a runoff include the County Judges Race that will be between Judge Robert Hathaway and Bobby Woods, the race for Constable North will be between Fred Starnes and Daniel J Mehn, and the race for Senate District 28 will come down to Incumbent Bob Ballinger and former State Senator Bryan King.

All other races on the Boone County Ballot had a winner determined on election night.
