A traffic crash in Taney County late Sunday afternoon has claimed the life of a man from Stone County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Online Traffic Report, the crash occurred just after 5:00 on Highway 65 when a vehicle traveled off the roadway, overcorrected and eventually overturned. The driver of the vehicle, 76-year-old Jean Lachapelle of Blue Eye was pronounced dead at the scene by Taney County Deputy Coroner Larry Summers. The driver was not wearing a seat belt according to the online report.
This is the 10th fatality worked by Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol in 2024.
